Hello Garfield finatics.
With the date of the garfield movie premiere apon us,
you will want to look the bell of the ball when you
go to your local theater to watch the funny cat.
Today, I will teach you how to make
the aesthetic pinterest bait garfield hat of your dreams.
(WITH PICTURES! WOW!)
STEP ONE: beanine Base
I wanted to keep the hat simple, so for the base beanie
pattern I used shape of fabric's tutorial
On the website they have all these fancy tips on how to sew
the beanie, but since I was using felt for this all I really did was
sew the slit together on each peice and then sew the two peices
together (pics below)
(also I used a whip stitch because i was using a sturdier fabric and it secure
and easy :])
(I have yet to name our hat model. feel free to give suggestions!)
STEP TWO: EARS
The ears are made up of 3 triangles sewn together at each side
(hehe triforce)
NOTE: you want the triangels to be about an 1/8th
the circumference of your head
Repate this process twice and youve got your ears!
STEP THREE : DEATAILS
cut out Garfield's stripes* and ear details.
Sew the ear thingis to the ears and the stripes* to the beanie
and your set!
*(I desided not to add the stripes because Im tired and I think it looks fine
as it is. But feel free to add)
STEP FOUR: ASSEMBLY
Whip stitch the ears on to the beanie
(example of stitch below)
(Tip: make sure to flaten the place you are sewing for easy stitching)
LAST STEP: ENJOY A YOUR HARD WORK
WOW!! you look absoultly fantastic! Now you can blow away
